About Karen M. Williams, CAE
Karen has worked with associations since 2014. Currently, she is the Manager, Governance and Global Volunteer Services with the National Association of REALTORS®️. Previously, she was the Senior Manager of Governance at the Society of Actuaries (SOA) where she supported SOA elections, the SOA Board of Directors, and other policy and governance administration. She initially served in various roles within the international department at the SOA. Previously, she worked for the American Academy of Actuaries as the legal assistant supporting work around professionalism, guidance, and discipline.
Karen is keenly focused on life-long learning, both for her organization’s members as well as her colleagues, channeling her passion to championing staff development and volunteer work with Association Forum and ASAE.
Karen achieved her CAE designation in Spring 2021 and was awarded the Association Forum Forty Under 40 award in late 2021. She received her Bachelor’s degree in History, With Honors from Loyola University Chicago and her Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University Chicago. Outside of work, she was recently an elected official and served as a Trustee for her local library’s Board of Trustees where she supported her community and continued her championship of life-long learning. She also served as an officer of the Board as Secretary.
